The Donation Attendant is responsible for performing retail sales functions, accepting merchandise donations, and selecting and pricing donated goods and textiles for sale in the retail stores, all in accordance with the Retail Procedures Manual. This role requires providing excellent customer service, greeting customers, and maintaining a cheerful and professional disposition. Key duties include operating a cash register accurately, inspecting and testing various donated items like textiles, furniture, and electrical appliances for saleability and safety, and preparing them for resale. The attendant also handles receiving and sorting donated goods, performing stock duties such as hanging garments and stocking shelves, and ensuring Goodwill's quality control standards are met. Additional responsibilities involve completing accurate reports, disinfecting upholstered materials, maintaining premises in compliance with safety and housekeeping practices, and working a flexible schedule to meet store needs. The position also entails physical tasks such as loading/unloading trailers and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
