About The Position

This position is responsible for: Receives and loads donated merchandise from donors. Ensures donated merchandise is unloaded into the warehouse in an orderly manner. Evaluates the donated merchandise and ensures the proper storage and protection of the donated merchandise. Prepares accurate donation receipts for customers

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to successfully and effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in the English language.
Ability to interact with public and staff in a positive manner.
Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) merchandise, materials, and supplies frequently.
Ability to push or pull heavy (50-75 lbs.) merchandise, materials, and supplies occasionally.
Work requires frequent walking, sitting, twisting, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and some climbing.
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Sorts donated items into bins or storage containers; interact with all donors in a friendly and courteous manner.
Ensures that all donated merchandise is accounted for, secured and processed in accordance with Salvation Army established policies and procedures.
Maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating and otherwise interacting in a manner supportive of good relations with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Perform other job-related responsibilities and tasks (other than those stated in this job description) as directed by management.
