About The Position

This position will remotely contact potential donor families through the organ, tissue, or eye donation process.  Daily activities include collaboration with IDN clinical team members, family members, and hospital and clinical partners.  This position completes all necessary paperwork associated with donation as well as intake medical information regarding the potential donor.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum two-year degree in the areas of Social Services, Psychology, Nursing, or other healthcare related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered with family dynamics that include issues involving death, dying, grief or loss is preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse audience
  • Requires the use of an IDN issued phone and physical ethernet cable connection from the wall of the home to the workstation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must respond timely to IDN communication outside of scheduled shifts.
  • Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. (e.g., Influenza obtained annually by December 1st.)

Nice To Haves

  • Crisis management experience preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare setting utilizing medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish rapport with potential donor families while providing support during the donation conversation and paperwork process.
  • Ensure accurate completion of required paperwork, including medical questionnaire and authorization or disclosure form.
  • Ensure effective and respectful communication and collaboration with hospital staff and other IDN team members.
  • Champion organizational efforts to ensure excellence in continuum of care for donor families.
  • Serve as an organizational expert regarding family discussions and support during the donation conversation.
  • Participate in process improvement and quality assurance activities.
