About The Position

Under the supervision of the Store Management Staff, the Donation Attendant is responsible for accepting donations from the public, distributing donation receipts, sorting, stacking, and moving raw material to the proper staging area. Loading and unloading trailers safely and effectively.

Requirements

• Education Required: Elementary education.
• Experience Required: None required. (Six (6) months customer service work experience and/or six months material handling is highly desirable.)
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Ability to interact courteously with the public.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Knowledge of material handling is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists donors in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Demonstrates superior customer service at all times.
• Responsible for accepting or rejecting donations based on condition of items and Agency policy.
• Declines unacceptable donations in a friendly, positive manner.
• Records and maintains donor records in a neat and accurate manner.
• Enters donor count electronically throughout the day.
• Handles all donated materials in a careful and safe manner to maximize value.
• Records and maintains donations of Electronic Waste (E-Waste) accurately, legibly, and in accordance with the State of California recycling requirements.
• Ensures all material containers are properly labeled and scanned into and out of the electronic warehouse management system in a timely and accurate manner.
• Keeps work area free of safety hazards.
• Works in a safe, organized manner.
• Performs in-store processing duties as assigned.
• Places trash in appropriate containers.
• Regular attendance is required to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Observes and supports all Agency policies and procedures, and audits.
