The Donate Life Services Supervisor will serve on the leadership team as a supervisor for the designated operation by overseeing all aspects of day-to-day donate life services operation. Manage, supervise, participate in and ensure the quality clinical procurement of organs (human) for transplantation and research for the organization's heart, lung, liver, intestine, kidney, and pancreas programs. Partner closely with colleagues to serve as a clinical expert, regularly model/mentor and train colleagues on technical skills, make decisions regarding daily priorities for the work group, provide guidance to and/or assist staff on non-routine or escalated issues and complete performance appraisals and/or disciplinary action. Responsible for executing department budget, ensuring appropriate expenditures and reporting variances to leadership. Provide medical staff, media and general population with accurate statistics and current information related to organ donation and transplantation as required. Contribute to organ allocation policy adjustments through participation in Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) sponsored committees where necessary. Support the Operating Rooms and Acute Bereavement Services (ABS) program by providing ongoing education to ABS team as requested and support to local Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) thereby ensuring compliance with required requestor laws and Medicare Conditions of Participation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years clinical experience including two years in transplant.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an operational and/or clinical expert.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or biological sciences.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and clinical skills in organ procurement.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise creativity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with telecommunication equipment and office supplies.
  • Driver's license and reliable automobile.
  • Blood and body fluid precautionary handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with quality improvement and outcomes monitoring.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Some management or leadership experience.
  • Master's Degree.

Responsibilities
