About The Position

We're seeking someone to join our US Domestic Tax team as a Vice President in Tax department to be responsible for overseeing key tax compliance and provision activities, ensuring the accurate preparation and review of federal and state tax filings, delivering high quality tax analytics and financial reporting, and fostering effective knowledge sharing and coordination with stakeholders across the Firm. In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is a Vice President level position within the Tax & Advisory job family which ensures compliance with income and indirect tax filings, reports tax information for the Firm’s regulatory filings, manages the Firm’s global tax authority relationships, including tax controversy, and monitors relevant tax regulations and legislation. Additional responsibilities include managing the Firm’s domestic and international tax strategies, determining the Firm’s transfer pricing policies and advising Senior Management and BUs on business products, strategic transactions and restructuring objectives. Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment
  • Ability to provide positive and constructive
  • feedback and acknowledge efforts of team members
  • Ability to articulate risk and impact to various audiences, and create plans to mitigate those risks
  • Approximately 10 - 15 years of hands-on income tax experience in a corporate environment or public accounting firm
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in tax or accounting
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong managerial skills, with a hands-on approach
  • Strong interest in collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Experience covering tax issues in a real-time environment
  • Significant tax compliance and ASC740 experience
  • Superior work ethic with high level of accountability
  • Facility with Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of partnership basis calculation and maintenance a plus
  • knowledge of Corptax a plus
  • Financial services industry experience preferable, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
  • Responsible for and lead a significant set of deliverables, leveraging advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment
  • Proactively identify emerging risks in individual and department work and contribute to strategies for mitigating them
  • Act as a role model and culture carrier; Embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards
  • Tax compliance management, oversight for a high volume of tax adjustments, Federal and state corporate income tax returns in a time sensitive environment for multiple legal entities across different businesses
  • Active participation in preparation of Federal consolidated forms and schedules
  • Tax provision management and review, monthly and quarterly income tax provision calculations.
  • Review monthly and quarterly effective tax rates
  • Preparation and review of separate company income tax provision and footnote for audited financial statement Review of quarterly federal and state deferred tax balances for regulatory reporting purposes
  • Analysis of income tax accounting impact of transactions
  • Reconciliation and validation of income tax accounts and balance sheet tax accounts
  • Assist with review of separate state and local tax returns
  • Tax analysis, planning and analytics
  • Tax audit support, including responding to IDRs
  • Special projects
  • Manage, attract, develop and retain talent for team within Finance while creating an inclusive environment; translate Firmwide goals into actionable goals for department/function.
