The New York Times Opinion department is looking for a correspondent to report and write editorials on a range of public policy issues. You will have expertise in the biggest questions, ideas and arguments in public policy. The journalist has an appreciation of a wide array of topics and expertise in at least one of the following: U.S. politics, global affairs, technology and the law. You can identify emerging trends with the skills to report and write about them persuasively. You must be gifted at storytelling, and skilled at writing articles with a clear, sharply defined argument or analytical points. You will be curious, be willing to go beyond conventional wisdom and be open to arguments from across the political spectrum. We are looking for an idea generator, someone who's constantly pitching ambitious stories. You may be called upon to lend expertise to and work on audio, graphics and video projects. You will be willing to engage with readers when appropriate. The journalist will work with Opinion editors on the audience and fact-checking teams. You have an ability to juggle many projects at multiple levels of completion while following deadlines.
