About The Position

The Domestic Agent III at AIT Worldwide Logistics is a pivotal role responsible for managing customer interactions and ensuring the successful execution of freight shipments. This position involves high visibility and requires effective communication and problem-solving skills to handle various logistics challenges. The agent will track and route shipments, maintain vendor compliance, and compile performance reports, all while striving to provide exceptional customer service in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Experience with AS400 systems.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and IATA certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 7 - 10 years of freight forwarding experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in math & geography skills.
  • Dangerous Goods Certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulations and compliance procedures associated with freight forwarding.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Quoting, tracking and tracing domestic freight shipments moving via air/ground on a daily basis.
  • Track overhead shipments daily and route accordingly.
  • Route freight shipments across multiple transportation modes and services based upon client requests.
  • Proactively communicate with clients regarding status of freight.
  • Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing and rates.
  • Assist local sales and domestic offices with air/ground freight issues.
  • Manage daily on-time and defect codes, carrier re-weights and insure all masters rated.
  • Assist in compiling customer specific key performance indicator (KPI) reports on a weekly/monthly basis as needed.
  • Ensure paperwork, labeling and scanning for accuracy.
  • Understand the requirements/expectations of handling shipments of consequence - NFO, high-value, date/time specific, etc.
  • Responsible for processing monthly inventory.
  • Network with corresponding departments to ensure files are billed and posted prior to end of month.
