About The Position

The Domain Architect is responsible and accountable for all architecture and design decisions within a specific domain, combining strategic oversight with hands-on technical leadership. Unlike traditional domain architect roles, this position requires deep technical involvement in the full application architecture and development lifecycle—translating business requirements into functioning software systems while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture standards and long-term digital transformation strategies. This role demands expertise in full stack development, database design, cloud architecture (AWS preferred), and systems implementation. The Domain Architect will work directly with code, design patterns, and technical implementations while driving domain-level strategy and maintaining business architecture artifacts.

Requirements

12+ years in software engineering with a proven track record of delivering high-impact products.
8–10+ years as an Application, Solutions, or Domain Architect delivering large-scale enterprise solutions using modern cloud-native technologies (AWS preferred).
Demonstrated experience in both strategic architecture planning and hands-on technical implementation.
Comprehensive understanding of InfoSec and DevSecOps principles using AWS.
Experience with application portfolio management and domain-driven design.
Expert-level experience implementing reusable software components and shared libraries in Java, Python, or JavaScript (preferred).
Strong leadership skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Proven ability to present and discuss technical, functional, and managerial information clearly to all levels.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to advise both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to drive consensus and influence technology decisions across teams and domains.

Nice To Haves

Experience with ServiceNow is a plus but not mandatory.
Background in financial systems and relevant domain expertise preferred but not mandatory.
AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Associate.

Responsibilities

Serve as part of the Domain Leadership Team to create technology strategy and influence direction.
Responsible and accountable for all architecture functions within the domain.
Create and maintain Technology Strategy, and current/target state architectures for the domain.
Collaborate with other domain architects and stakeholders to drive consensus across initiatives.
Validate technology feasibility of business case and concept proposals.
Partner with Technology Domain Owners to maintain domain technology roadmaps.
Drive full stack solution design and implementation using best practices such as microservices, streaming technologies, and event-driven architectures.
Lead design and implementation of reusable software components, shared libraries, and frameworks for enterprise-wide use.
Collaborate with domain architects, SMEs, delivery leads, and product owners to develop timely solutions.
Focus on enhancing non-functional requirements — reusability, scalability, maintainability, performance, availability, and reliability.
Support solution architects in creating high- and low-level designs and documenting artifacts.
Ensure proposed technology solutions adhere to architecture standards and enterprise principles.
Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation to sustain system integrity and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Evangelize effective pattern utilization and sound design practices.
Mentor and coach software developers and solution architects on system design, code quality, and maintainability.
Participate in all cross-domain architecture routines and governance processes.
