About The Position
The Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) is recruiting for a Regional Manager to work in the Southeast region, consisting of Baca, Bent, Crowley, Huerfano, Las Animas, Kiowa, Otero, Prowers, and Pueblo counties. The Regional Manager is recognized as a state authority regarding all aspects of local government operations and management as well as community and economic development challenges and opportunities in the assigned region. This position requires excellent independent decision-making and executive management skills, maintaining current knowledge of local government management in areas such as finance, planning, personnel administration, and community development practices. The Regional Manager acts with full autonomy and independence when representing the State and/or Department in the field and is viewed as the primary point of contact and the face of state government. This role involves advising the Executive Branch, General Assembly, and other state agencies on local issues, developing policy solutions, and coordinating resources during disaster recovery.
