About The Position

The DOL TAP Employment Facilitator role at Serco involves assisting transitioning military personnel in their journey to civilian employment. This part-time position focuses on providing job assistance workshops, employment counseling, and guidance to servicemen and women, helping them navigate the challenges of transitioning from military to civilian life.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator, or an Associate's degree.
• Experience demonstrating understanding of private and public sector employment processes.
• Experience as a classroom instructor.
• Knowledgeable of workplace requirements for various jobs.
• Ability to provide training to groups of up to 50 participants.
• Proficient in MS Windows and Office.
• Effective communication skills with military clients and ability to engage an audience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience providing comprehensive understanding of civilian employment preparation to military servicemembers, family members, and veterans.

Responsibilities

• Teach and instruct military personnel on transitioning to civilian professional and vocational occupations.
• Guide transitioning military servicemembers in identifying their goals and recognizing employment or education gaps.
• Organize and manage an office effectively.
• Provide comprehensive understanding to transitioning servicemembers, family members, and veterans about preparing for civilian employment, job searching, application processes, networking, and technical training opportunities.
• Conduct large group instruction and provide counseling on the job search process.
