Doggy Day Care Associate
About The Position

Holiday Barn Pet Resorts is looking for a canine day care associate or kennel attendant who is looking for a rewarding canine career! This fun, active, and hands-on job with dogs requires supervising doggie play groups, maintaining play areas, interacting with different dog breeds, and observing behaviors. Holiday Barn Pet Resorts has 50 years of experience in pet care enrichment with two locations in Richmond, Virginia - Glen Allen and Midlothian. If you have a calling for canines, this is the position for you! Morning shifts are available with weekend and holiday work required. No experience? No worries! If you are a responsible, energetic, and hardworking dog lover, we are happy to provide you with training. Full time employees may be eligible for access to company sponsored medical, dental and vision insurance, company paid life and long term disability insurance and generous paid time off. Part-time, or less than 30 hours weekly, starts at $13.50/hr. Full-time employment starts at $15.50/hr. Plus a $2 an-hour increase for anyone who works weekends. This workplace is moderately and physically demanding. Candidates must have the ability to lift and push up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, be able to bend, stoop, reach, and stretch, along with the ability to move pets within the facility, vehicles, up and down stairs, and in and out of enclosures. The workplace is typified as a loud working environment - barking dogs, high-pressure dryers, etc. All communication will be via email. Responsibilities
- Organizing stimulating activities for dogs.
- Setting up our camp area for dog enrichment activities and play.
- Daily cleaning and organizing.
- Interest in working outdoors and with a variety of dogs, regardless of weather.
- Supervising doggie play groups
- Maintaining play areas
- Interacting with different dog breeds
- Observing behaviors
