Dog Trainer Spokane

Off Leash K9 Training
21d$35,000 - $70,000Hybrid

About The Position

Are you looking for a career, not just a job — something meaningful where you help dogs and their owners transform their lives every single day? We are growing our Spokane / CDA team and hiring 2+ Dog Trainers to join our professional training staff. This role is challenging, rewarding, and highly hands-on with dogs and their owners. We are looking for motivated individuals who want to build a long-term career in dog behavior, obedience, and client education.

Requirements

  • Must live in the Spokane / Coeur d’Alene metro area
  • Must pass a background check
  • Able to board 1–2 dogs in your home for the 14-day or 4 week training programs
  • Reliable transportation + valid driver’s license
  • Smartphone
  • Basic understanding of social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). We will train you on video, photo, and content creation.
  • Must complete and pass our 21-day New Trainer Certification Program (held in Spokane or at Off Leash HQ/Northern Virginia depending on availability)
  • Understand that and be available to work some weekends, evenings, holidays and peak training times (dog training follows client demand)
  • Comfortable working both at our training facility and independently from home as skills progress

Responsibilities

  • Train, handle, and care for dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds
  • Work with a variety of dogs, including puppies, high-energy dogs, and basic behavior cases (advanced behavior modification ( aggression, anxiety) available after experience is earned)
  • Provide daily communication and updates to dog owners throughout each training program
  • Teach small group lessons at our training facility
  • Perform drop-offs and pick-ups with end of training turnover sessions with board-and-train clients
  • Practice safe handling and cleaning of training equipment
  • Attend company training events, continuing education opportunities, and community PR events
  • Collaborate with senior trainers and team members
  • Represent Off Leash K9 Training professionally in public, online, and with clients
  • Maintain accurate records, client communications, and training notes
  • Be hungry to keep learning — both dog training and human communication

Benefits

  • Flexible schedule.
  • We work with our trainers to take a few days off between scheduled clients.
  • As you gain experience and successfully train multiple dogs, you will earn more autonomy and work independently with clients.
  • New trainers work closely with senior staff and receive hands-on coaching for their first several dogs after certification.
  • Continuing education and skill development provided throughout the year via Off Leash K9 programs nationwide.
