About The Position

Canine To Five is seeking an experienced part-time Groomer to join our team! We offer unlimited income potential and excellent benefits. We are an upscale pet resort located in Commerce Twp, MI. Between our grooming clients, and our busy daycare and boarding dogs, groomers can do 6-10 dogs per day, 5 days a week with us. We pay all of our W-2 Groomers 50% commission, in addition to receiving both cash and credit card tips. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years of professional grooming experience, a complete set of grooming tools, and a great attitude.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
Weekend/holiday availability & able to work 5 shifts/week
Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for an extended period of time, walk, run, bend and reach
Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
A positive attitude and comfortable working in a team environment
2+ years of professional grooming experience
A complete set of grooming tools

Responsibilities

Comb, clip, trim, and shape coats to groom animals using knowledge of characteristics, grooming techniques, and styles
Be able to study proportions of animal to determine the most appropriate cutting pattern to achieve desired style
Knowledgeable on full service dog grooming, drying methods, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trim and file, oral care, expressing anal glands, pest control
A natural love of working with and caring for dogs
Exposure to unpleasant odors, animal waste, bites, scratches, contagious diseases
Personal accountability i.e. attendance, dress code, cell phone policy, etc.
