About The Position

We're an award-winning IT solutions provider to the Federal government seeking a Document Scanner and Digitization Technician to join our project team. U.S. citizenship is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day of employment. This is a full-time, short-term position. There is a daily onsite requirement in Washington, DC. and therefore the selected candidates must live within commuting distance. Federal government Agencies are transitioning to an electronic government and therefore digitizing information to advance their records management process and policies. This position requires working collaboratively within a document scanning team to convert paper records into digital storage.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience working with basic office resources/equipment (email, scanners, web browsers, word processors, etc.)
  • Document archiving experience which consists of compliance with processes, procedures, laws, securing sensitive data through encryption and access controls, taking care with delicate papers due to age, and supporting business practices.
  • Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity and a customer service-oriented personality
  • Attention to detail, clear communication skills
  • Must be able to perform tasks that involve repetitive motion of the fingers, hand, arms, feet, legs, or other body parts. Must be able to move boxes that weigh up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with "Scan Robot" automatic book scanner or other high-end book scanning equipment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documents to be scanned (i.e., remove from boxes, remove paperclips and/or staples, remove pages from dossiers and loose-leaf notebooks, insert folder and document separator sheets)
  • Operate high-volume production book scanner to convert physical records
  • Scan document pages in the appropriate order
  • Quality control - Ensure image quality by reviewing scanned documents to ensure accuracy
  • Load files into a pre-existing file or online system structure and verify success.
  • Monitor and maintain scanning production process to ensure daily/weekly project goals are met
  • Document archiving
  • Maintain strict accountability of sensitive and classified materials
  • Provide weekly status updates on progress to Manager(s)
  • Raise issues as they arise and attempt to resolve work production challenges
