About The Position

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Engineer, maintain, and govern document control and configuration management processes for product and manufacturing data. Lead creation, maintenance, and control of part numbers, multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs), and master routings within ERP and PLM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Windchill, Agile). Administer the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, ensuring accurate implementation and cross-functional approval. Serve as the technical interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure documentation accuracy and traceability. Ensure all engineering documentation accurately reflects design intent and manufacturing requirements. Maintain and optimize electronic document management systems (EDMS), PLM, and ERP integrations. Define, implement, and enforce document control standards, configuration management policies, and engineering data best practices. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by ensuring documentation, revision history, and change records are complete and compliant. Conduct process audits and gap assessments of document control workflows, drive corrective and preventive actions. Lead training for engineers and technical staff on document control systems, change management, and data governance. Support new product introduction (NPI), production transfers, and sustaining engineering activities through controlled document release. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce change cycle time, errors, and rework. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field required. Additional certifications in document control, quality management, or configuration management are a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in document control, configuration management, or product data management within a manufacturing or regulated industry. Proven leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members. Strong background in engineering and manufacturing documentation, including BOMs, routings, CAD files, and specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in document control, configuration management, or product data management within a manufacturing or regulated industry.
  • Proven leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Strong background in engineering and manufacturing documentation, including BOMs, routings, CAD files, and specifications.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP and PLM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Agile, Windchill).
  • In-depth knowledge of document management principles, part numbering systems, and change control.
  • Proficiency with engineering drawings and CAD file types (CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to manage complex documentation projects with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and proactive problem-solving skills.
