About The Position

We are seeking an organized and compassionate Emergency Doctor’s Assistant (EDA) to join our Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) team. The EDA plays a key role in supporting our receiving doctors, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring clear communication between the medical team and our clients. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys helping both people and pets during their most critical moments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a veterinary hospital (emergency or specialty experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and hospital workflows.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organization skills.
  • Professional, calm, and compassionate demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SmartFlow and WoofWare preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with receiving emergency doctors to streamline patient flow and daily caseloads.
  • Create and maintain SmartFlow sheets for incoming patients to ensure a smooth transition to Critical Care.
  • Support client communication, including updates, treatment discussions, and consent coordination.
  • Assist doctors in preparing and reviewing treatment estimates and entering charges in WoofWare.
  • Monitor treatment progress and ensure all medical orders are completed and documented accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, assistants, and CSRs to keep cases organized and on schedule.
  • Participate in rounds and contribute to improving efficiency and continuity of care across shifts.
