The Dockworker, Warehousing position at Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) involves safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling, and loading freight. The dockworker will work in a team environment, adhering to safety regulations and company policies while ensuring accurate and timely completion of shipments.

  • Safely and efficiently unload, sort, handle, and load freight according to instructions and regulations.
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas using hand or equipment.
  • Read work orders or receive instructions to determine work assignments or material needs.
  • Control and maintain records for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to accomplish assignments.
  • Use computers, email, scanners, and warehouse management systems to track inventory and create paperwork.
  • Support and promote company core values.
  • Maintain regular attendance and comply with security procedures.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.
  • Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate basic concepts with peers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions.
  • Good judgment in escalating issues when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Ability to type and update computer systems quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience in the Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry.
