About the position

The Dockworker/Forklift Operator at Xpress Global Systems, LLC is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading freight, ensuring accurate sorting and handling of products, and maintaining a clean and organized service center dock. This role requires the use of forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as barcode scanners to track and manage inventory effectively.

Responsibilities

• Offloading delivery trucks transporting merchandise into the warehouse
• Loading or unloading freight by hand or with freight handling tools such as lift truck or pallet jack
• Using scanners to read bar codes on products
• Scanning barcodes on freight and ensuring each freight movement to rack, floor, or loading door
• Verifying shipping information from the scan unit to ensure freight is labeled correctly
• Receiving and putting away inventory
• Confirming merchandise information matches that of the work order
• Attaching barcodes to freight for tracking and routing
• Finalizing the work order and updating the database
• Inspecting merchandise for damage, flaws, and irregularities
• Ensuring product meets quality requirements
• Reporting overages, shortages, and damages according to operating procedures
• Sorting and segregating freight by destination
• Verifying freight counts
• Performing dock clean-up as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• 6 months experience in a similar role
• Previous experience as a fulfillment associate
• Knowledge of warehousing procedures is an advantage
• Ability to read and interpret written work orders
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Meet minimum hiring criteria
