About The Position
If you love life on the water and thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, Lighthouse Point Marina is looking for a Dockmaster to lead daily dock operations and help deliver an exceptional experience for every boater who visits our marina. As Dockmaster, you are the heartbeat of the docks. You’ll coordinate vessel arrivals and departures, lead dock staff, assist boaters as they come and go, and ensure the marina operates safely and efficiently every day. You’ll also serve as the primary point of contact for slip holders and visiting guests—making sure their experience at Lighthouse Point Marina is smooth, welcoming, and memorable. This role blends leadership, customer service, and hands-on marina operations for someone who enjoys being outdoors, working around boats, and leading a team. Requirements
- Experience in marina, boating, or waterfront operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of vessel handling and docking procedures
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Responsibilities
- Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, and slip assignments
- Assist with safe docking and maneuvering
- Monitor dock activity to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow
- Serve as the primary contact for slip holders and visiting boaters
- Answer questions, resolve issues, and provide helpful guidance
- Promote marina services and amenities
- Supervise and schedule dockhands
- Train staff on docking procedures, safety practices, and guest service standards
- Support a positive, professional team environment
- Oversee slip assignments and transient reservations
- Maintain accurate records of vessels and marina occupancy
- Enforce marina policies and safety procedures
- Monitor weather conditions and respond to safety situations as needed
- Conduct routine inspections of docks, utilities, and marina infrastructure
- Coordinate minor repairs and report maintenance needs
