Dockmaster Security Officer - FT (Temp)
About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Dockmaster to join our team in Downtown Seattle on a temporary assignment. As a Dockmaster, you will be responsible for managing access control, monitoring incoming and outgoing freight and deliveries, coordinating with tenants and vendors, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations at the loading dock area. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Looking for career growth? Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required, OR ability to complete GED program within 6 months.
- 1 year of customer service and 1 year of security experience required.
- Intermediate to advanced computer / technology skills needed.
- Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner.
- Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout the shift.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation measures.
- All candidates must be willing to participate in Securitas’ pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service background preferred.
- Prior Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus!
Responsibilities
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
- Monitor and control access to the loading dock area.
- Conduct patrols inside and outside the client's premises in various weather conditions.
- Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
- Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
- Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
- Set up barriers / signage and provide direction or information to others.
- Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
