ELS is hiring for the position of Dockhand in Cortez, Florida. What you’ll be doing: As a Dock Hand, you will carry out the cleaning duties that ensure the Marina meets the established quality standards for all related operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, around boats, and providing great service to marina guests while maintaining the highest possible safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets
  • Reliable with good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with teammates
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to lift, bend, and perform physical work

Nice To Haves

  • Marina or boating experience preferred, but not required (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist boaters with arrivals, departures, docking, and dock carts
  • Assist with fueling, pump-outs, freshwater service, and accurately report fuel and ice sales.
  • Help with vessel operations including acting as spotter for all boat moves, catching boats, tying off, haul-out/trailer load-offload support, rinsing boat decks prior to client arrival, assist with boat inspections, placing rack numbers on boats, engine flushes, bottom washes,and battery checks
  • Maintain cleanliness of marina facilities including docks, restrooms, walkways, fish station, grounds, parking areas, and equipment
  • Perform daily trash removal and general property upkeep
  • Conduct safety inspections (ladders, life rings, docks) and report hazards or maintenance issues
  • Assist with special events, marina projects, and emergency response as needed
  • Enforce marina rules and regulations to ensure safety of guests and vessels
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Complete required training and follow established marina procedures
