About The Position

Our Distribution Center and Transportation Partners are key to helping stock H-E-B Stores and keeping our supply chain moving all over Texas and Mexico. As a Dock Worker for H-E-B Transportation, you'll load and unload trailers, safely and thoroughly. You'll operate MHE and promote a safe, clean work environment. Requirements

  • knowledge of warehouse process for sanitation (e.g., cleaning agents, supplies, tools)
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • 0+ years of experience
  • Math skills (+, -, , /)
  • Reading and writing skills
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to operate machines and equipment in a safe, independent manner
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in pallet jack and forklift operation
  • Ability to operate H-E-B in-house systems (e.g., TINA)
  • Attention to detail
  • Constantly stand, walk, and squat
  • Frequently lift and carry 7 lbs for duration of a 10 to 12-hour shift
  • Occasionally lift up to 57 lbs
  • Occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, and floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and pivot
  • Work in multi-temperature zones

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of related local, state, and federal regulations (preferred)
  • Bi-lingual (English - Spanish) skills a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plans and facilitates daily loading and unloading of H-E-B trailers of specific reusables (e.g., pallets, plastic trays and crates, boxes, wrap, ties, assorted returns)
  • Loads and unloads trailers in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with SOPs; unloads completely
  • Maintains clean trailers; operates wash equipment; washes trailers as needed
  • Operates material handling equipment
  • Promotes a safe and clean work environment
  • Maintains a sense of urgency; always prompt and punctual
  • Escalates issues outside parameters to appropriate parties
