About The Position

The Dock Worker is responsible for receiving, unloading, staging, and shipping recyclable plastic materials and finished products in a plastics recycling facility. This role ensures safe and efficient movement of materials between trucks, storage areas, and production lines. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg) regularly
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures
Basic math and counting skills
Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions
Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks
Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience
Experience handling recyclable materials or industrial goods

Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks containing recyclable plastics (bales, boxes, gaylords, pallets)
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading and shipping documents
Inspect materials for visible contamination, damage, or incorrect labeling
Move raw materials to designated storage or production areas
Stage finished goods for shipment and assist with order preparation
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
Secure loads using straps, wrap, or other methods to prevent shifting during transport
Maintain accurate inventory counts and report discrepancies
Keep dock, storage, and staging areas clean and organized (5S practices)
Follow traffic patterns and safety rules for pedestrian and forklift movement
Communicate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams regarding material needs
Assist with general warehouse duties as required
