Directs and supervisors Dock activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling materials, and keeping inventory current. Ensure dock and warehouse sanitation. Attends daily planning and staff meeting. Recordkeeping of dock operations and forklift operations. Confer with office to ensure coordination of dock activities with activities of other functions such as inventory, sales, receiving, and purchasing. Confer with Plant Engineer to ensure coordination of PM schedule/equipment maintenance and other maintenance related issues. Direct salvage of damaged or used material. Direct orientation and training of new employees. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. WORKING CONDITIONS Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties. Work conditions vary, quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical. Temperatures range from 30 to 50 degrees in processing departments. Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick. Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 50 lbs., and to stand for long periods of time. .
