The Dock Operator is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials, as well as packaging and loading shipments for delivery. They ensure materials are transported to production areas and that inventory records are kept accurate using scanners and WMS systems. The operator also communicates with internal teams and suppliers to resolve any issues and manages all necessary documentation. Safety is key, as the operator operates equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, performs equipment checks, and keeps the work area clean and organized. Meet Panasonic Energy! Requirements

  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
  • Familiarity with material handling processes, shipping/receiving, and inventory control
  • Experience with material handling equipment
  • Ability to operate computer terminals, RF scanners, and Operator Interface Terminals
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English
  • Basic mathematical skills to accurately count materials and products
  • Safety-conscious attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced warehouse, manufacturing, automation, or assembly environment
  • Forklift certification or experience with lift equipment
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, shipping regulations, and industry standards
  • Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA Compliant)
  • HAZMAT Certification / Hazardous Materials Handling
  • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry Certification

Responsibilities

  • Unload and inspect incoming materials; verify against purchase orders and documentation
  • Package, label, and load outbound goods according to customer and shipping requirements
  • Transport materials to production areas and ensure First in First Out (FIFO) compliance
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using RFID/barcode scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Generate and manage shipping/receiving documentation and lot tracking
  • Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve material discrepancies
  • Operate and maintain tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area per 6S standards
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Ability to work all scheduled shifts
  • Ability to train others at same or lower level within functional area
