About The Position

General Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of the Marina department to include the proper daily operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of the marina docks and other assigned areas. Ensures all docks are well-maintained and safe. Supervise the renting of boat slips and ensures that boaters observe all marine rules and regulations. Supervise, train and manage all Marina staff. Clean Driving Record is required. Qualifications (Essential): • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training. • Minimum of two years’ experience in a large facility. • Working seamanship knowledge that includes boating right-of-way rules, basic navigation, and inshore and offshore mooring techniques. • Solid understanding of marine operations. • Knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the marina. • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guest, management, and co-workers to their understanding. • Ability to provide legible written communication. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. • Ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations and use required measurement tools. • Ability to prepare budgets and ensure cost controls. • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. • Ability to interpret manufacturer’s literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the marina. Qualifications (Desired): • College degree in marine management or certification. • Previous supervisory experience. • Previous guest relations and/or training. Skills: • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision. • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties. • Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with the Marina staff. • Ability to trouble shoot and use alternatives in emergency situations. • Ability to handle potentially hazardous chemicals. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guests and pertinent hotel information.
