The Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE) is a University of Texas at Austin-supported semiconductor consortium of state and local government, preeminent defense electronics and semiconductor companies, national labs and nationally recognized academic institutions. The Dock Manager will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient end-to-end shipping/receiving and inter-site logistics operations for tools and sensitive materials by maintaining standards, supervising material flow, resolving discrepancies, standardizing processes, and driving performance through KPIs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years in logistics position, managing and supervising logistics for raw materials, parts, and supplies
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Demonstrated strong customer service orientation and ability to take ownership for issue resolution
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus/courses in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor logistics position, Managing and supervising logistics for raw materials, parts, and supplies
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain 6S program for shipping and receiving at two locations.
  • Coordinate loading, unloading and packaging decontamination operations for semiconductor tools.
  • Manage and supervise logistics for raw materials, parts, supplies and sensitive devices, including, but not limited to: Receiving, Shipping, Staging for Stocking, Vendor Returns, Internal distribution of shipments
  • Resolve damaged shipments.
  • Work with Supply Chain to resolve quantity mismatches.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for shipping, receiving and distribution.
  • Manage daily courier runs between sites.
  • Define and track key process indicators (KPIs)
