Dock Manager
About The Position
Overview Oversee and facilitate dock and yard workflow to maximize efficient processes both loading and unloading product Location: Warehouse Responsibilities Ensure inbound product is unloaded , assembled , and palleted properly, according to MDI standards Ensure outbound orders are assembled and loaded according to established MDI processes and customer s tandards Manage the dock supervisors, coordinators , yard spotters, and asset returns teams, as well as other relevant positions to ensure on time deliveries Assists in the coordination of general warehouse activities such as inventory control, storage, and damage . Provide s input in establishing warehouse procedures, layouts, equipment, and maintenance requirements and standards Direct s staffing moves or changes between departments in the absence of the Operations Manager in order to meet workload demands and maintain an efficient workflow Coordinate s forklift activities to ensure pr oper storage, as well as efficient freight movement to drive a high level of customer service in support of order fulfillment Coordinate s scheduling and unloading of all inbound freight, including backhaul and third party Coordinates dock organization plans with other shifts and team members Provides support for training and implementation of warehouse management technology Manages expenses with emphasis on damage, labor , and supply usage to meet or exceed budget Coordinate special projects as assigned by Operations Manager Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations , SQF, and company policies
Requirements
- The incumbent should possess the skills and knowledge generally associated with a bachelor's degree in business or related field and 3-5 years’ progressive warehouse management experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
