About The Position

At Raymond Central, our technicians are the heart and soul of our company. We are looking for a Dock & Door Technician in the St. Louis area that is mechanically savvy and passionate about building customer relationships. This position involves maintaining service and support dock equipment (including dock plates, dock lock systems, and overhead doors) at the customer location in a timely and cost-effective manner so that customer requirements are met. This is a full time, hourly position. Some overtime may be required based on customer demands.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • At least two (2) years of hands-on technical experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical components.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or work on elevated platforms that may be 15' to 30' in height.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical aptitude & ability; basic knowledge of industrial electricity.
  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturer's specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to customer site, diagnose, trouble-shoot and repair dock equipment including dock plates, trailer restraint systems, and overhead doors and other equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures, maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment according to schedule, established procedures, and cost guidelines at customer's facility.
  • Complete all required paperwork and time records accurately and completely follow Mobile Tech Procedures as directed by management.
  • Account for all parts, materials, tools and consumables used as required.
  • Drive and work safely in accordance with company and/or customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive, effective working relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Maintain the van's interior equipment, storage devices, service manuals and related documents.
  • Attend meetings, training classes and other company activities as required.
  • Keep an adequate set of personal tools as required by the position.
  • Work with all departments and employees to ensure quality of customer service.
