About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) is seeking a dedicated Office Coordinator to provide technical office support functions related to Earned Program Sentence Credits (EPSC). This role involves organizing, monitoring, and maintaining EPSC contracts and work assignments, while effectively communicating with various stakeholders. The position requires strong attention to detail and integrity, contributing to the overall efficiency of the IDOC facility.

Requirements

  • Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience, or two (2) years of independent business experience.
  • Ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute.

  • At least two (2) years of work experience utilizing software and databases to gather and retrieve information.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience reviewing contracts.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience developing a system to organize, monitor, and maintain information.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience gathering information for report preparation.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience responding to inquiries from higher level staff.
  • At least two (2) years of work experience verifying and tracking contract information.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in reading, interpreting, and applying rules and/or guidelines of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical office support functions regarding Earned Program Sentence Credits (EPSC) contracts.
  • Develop a process to organize, monitor, and maintain individuals in custody EPSC contracts and work assignments.
  • Serve as a liaison regarding EPSC, work assignments, and contracts.
  • Keyboards forms, documents, and letters in response to inquiries of the institution's programs.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
