The IT Support Technician position at Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is designed for active duty military personnel transitioning to civilian roles through the DoD SkillBridge program. This role involves providing comprehensive computer, hardware, and software support to employees, ensuring optimal functionality of IT systems and equipment. The technician will engage in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing desktop and laptop computers, as well as network equipment, while also making recommendations for software and hardware purchases based on employee needs.

  • Setup, configuration, repair, and integration of computing hardware, software, networking, and telecommunications technologies.
  • Provide basic network support to ensure full connectivity of desktop and networked peripherals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and setup for various computer-related equipment, including audio-visual systems.
  • Deliver outstanding customer-centered support and service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve IT incidents/service requests, escalating to upper Tier IT teams when necessary, and manage ticketing through the IT Service Desk.
  • Support organizational efforts and maintain policies and procedures within the IT Department.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of local site IT systems documentation.
  • Currently serving as active duty military and eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program.
  • Associate's Degree in a related field with 2 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrated customer/solution ownership and a drive for excellence.
  • Team-oriented with a capacity for knowledge sharing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with end users.
  • Ability to understand user and business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of current IT technical standards related to computers, printers, network technology, and software troubleshooting.
  • Comprehensive troubleshooting skills for industry-standard hardware and software products/services.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • ITIL Tier II desktop support certification
