About The Position
DMV Services Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs including licensing drivers; issuing identification cards; registering and titling vehicles; issuing occupational business licenses; and processing reinstatements. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. OR Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. This position is located in our Henderson DMV Office within our Field Services Division. This position conducts non-commercial driving skills tests for customers including challenged and high-risk drivers; drivers with physical/intellectual disabilities and for non and/or limited English speaking customers. Examiners determine an applicant's ability to safely operate a vehicle; reviews test results with applicants; counsels drivers, refers applicants to driver improvement courses, and applies restrictions to driving privileges when appropriate. Additional duties may include assisting with processing and issuing of driver's vehicle titles and registration; accepting payment for transactions, and balancing of a cash drawer and received funds.
