About The Position

The DME Sleep Technician will provide essential DME services for Respiratory Care patients, focusing on the configuration and education of patients regarding positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy. This role involves direct patient interaction, troubleshooting, and maintaining patient records while ensuring compliance with treatment protocols.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a sleep center or similar healthcare environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with respiratory therapy practices.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting diagnostic data related to sleep medicine.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation to determine patient's condition and treatment protocols.
• Configure positive airway pressure (PAP) devices and perform mask fittings.
• Educate patients regarding PAP therapy and the use of equipment and supplies.
• Answer and return phone calls from established patients, providing support and troubleshooting to maximize adherence to therapy.
• Provide patient instruction for sleep-related needs, including correct use of PAP therapy and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating conditions.
• Assist with patient scheduling as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
