About The Position

The DJJ Operations Coordinator is responsible for implementing training initiatives across detention centers in Florida, focusing on needs assessments, course evaluations, and compliance with operational directives. This role involves statewide travel to provide in-person training, coordinate conferences, and ensure effective functioning of newly implemented systems and procedures within the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Requirements

  • Ability to coordinate a consultative program for resolving managerial and operational problems.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of assignments.

  • Ability to organize data for presentation in reports and documents.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data for operational improvements.
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research and work independently.

  • Ability to travel statewide for training duties.

Responsibilities

  • Implement training for in-service and requested statewide courses at detention centers.
  • Review course and program content for adherence and compliance with agency needs.
  • Conduct internal job task analyses and quarterly inspection reviews in preparation for annual audits.
  • Plan, coordinate, and present at statewide and regional conferences and workshops.
  • Serve as a statewide trainer providing in-person training based on assessed needs.
  • Assist detention centers statewide as a juvenile detention officer when needed.
  • Adhere to rules and policies while implementing continuous quality and process improvement efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
