About The Position

This role is a remote based position and will require the ability to travel 50-70%. CubeSmart is currently seeking a Divisional Trainer to join the Human Resources team to support our mid-west division. The Divisional Trainer will collaborate with the Training team, HR, Division Management, and Field Training Specialists to create and execute a learning strategy for assigned division. This position can be based out of our Englewood, CO divisional office or remotely from the candidate's home office if located within the region. The Divisional Trainer is responsible for enhancing the training capabilities, confidence, and operational effectiveness of our Field Training Specialists (FTSs)—who serve as both store General Managers and Frontline Trainers. The DT ensures FTSs are equipped to train new teammates, lead their stores successfully, and drive business growth across the division. This position directly supports teammate retention, satisfaction, and customer experience, while partnering closely with Divisional Vice Presidents (DVPs) and District Managers (DMs) to drive improvements through training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of training experience; retail or storage operations preferred but not required
  • Expertise in learning and development principles
  • Experience with LMS platforms and training modalities
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker with excellent writing and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and influence across all levels
  • Willingness to travel 50-70%

Responsibilities

  • Strengthening the leadership and instructional capabilities of FTSs
  • Building FTSs' confidence in operational decision-making and team development
  • Ensuring consistent execution of company standards across all training missions
  • Driving performance metrics through effective coaching and support
  • Collaborating on FTS transfers between divisions
  • Maintaining and updating content on the FTS site and validating posted questions
  • Verifying accuracy of training guides and manuals, including quarterly updates
  • Ordering training workbooks and supplies
  • Supporting onboarding of new District Managers
  • Designing and delivering scalable training programs tailored to FTSs' dual roles
  • Providing hands-on coaching in instructional techniques
  • Facilitating peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing
  • Conducting one-on-one sessions to reinforce leadership and communication skills
  • Offering feedback and recognition to boost morale
  • Serving as a trusted advisor for complex store-level challenges
  • Guiding FTSs in mastering KPIs such as occupancy, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction
  • Aligning training efforts with divisional and company-wide goals
  • Monitoring training store performance and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Collaborating with DVPs and DMs to develop future leaders
  • Mentoring FTSs through store visits and role-play scenarios
  • Evaluating training effectiveness using LMS data and performance metrics
  • Maintaining operational knowledge and resolving store challenges
  • Promoting company culture through WOW! programs and leading by example
  • Recruiting and onboarding new FTSs, setting goals, and building cross-functional relationships
  • Coordinating logistics for meetings and trainings, including accommodations and supplies
