About The Position

The Divisional Financial Analyst is responsible for providing management with high-quality and recurring analysis and insight of financial results of select corporate segments (i.e. TTS, Logistics, Schools/Other) with emphasis on revenue and expense trending, variances to plan and forecast, headcount versus non-headcount driven expense, visibility to project-related and non-recurring expense and other analytics aimed at managing segment level profitability. The overall objective of this role, in working to support the Divisional heads of each Segment, is to compile data to tell the story behind the numbers while maintaining a high-degree of insight, awareness and understanding of corporate EPS targets. This includes maintaining standard P&L reporting formats, content and analytics while also ensuring that monthly business reviews (MBR's) with corporate segments are scheduled and held in a manner that is concise, comprehensive and meaningful in terms P&L insight, trends, and forward-looking forecasts. In addition, this role will be an integral part of creating rolling forecasts across cost centers and P&L's, as well as assist in the annual planning process. Other duties can include working with cost saving initiatives, ad hoc financial presentations, forecasts, scenario analysis and other financial modeling.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant and progressive experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, preferably in Business Administration or Accounting
  • Master's degree in finance or M.B.A. a plus
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
  • Experience within Fortune 1000 or larger enterprises
  • Experience creating strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Strengths in multitasking across multiple groups toward a deadline
  • Process oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft office skill with emphasis on Excel & Power Point
  • High degree of analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data
  • Understanding of report query and design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to focus on the details
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management
  • Proficiency with cloud-based enterprise performance measurement consolidation, reporting and planning tools such as Workday and excel add-in tools such as OfficeConnect or similar such as oracle EPM and Hyperion

Responsibilities

  • Execute the annual financial plan and update forecasts in Adaptive Planning, including gathering key inputs from functional business partners
  • Analyze key metrics and drivers across each cost center and department to help tell the 'story' as it relates to Divisional and Segment level P&L impact
  • Prepare senior level and ad hoc presentations for forecasts, strategic/operating plans, and MBR/QBRs
  • Review monthly/quarterly results with leadership in preparation of Monthly Business Review meetings
  • Perform sensitivity, comparative and trend analysis on forward looking forecasts, with a focus on Adaptive Planning versioning
  • Advise various levels of management on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes, and Division and Segment-specific strategy
  • Participate to modernize and transform cost and expense management, forecasting process and technology, including further automation and intelligence in data modeling relationships and analytical concepts (queries, reporting, and association of data sources), while leveraging technology (Workday, Tableau, Excel add-in tools and other platforms)
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including Divisional leadership to provide improved visibility and insights on business drivers and results
  • Interpret requirements and translate them into data requirements (Interfaces, data transformation, etc.) for complex projects and financial modeling including driver-based planning and forecasting
  • Engage in special projects as required, inclusive of return on investment, and improving processes and systems utilized to create and analyze data
  • Optimize business performance through analysis of operational and financial KPIs
  • Determine best practices and high priority improvements for company financial processes
