About The Position

The Divisional Director of Nursing Services for the Behavioral Health Division in the Western Region at Universal Health Services is a critical role responsible for overseeing nursing services, specifically standards of care and practice related to Children and Adolescent Services. This position supports a large portfolio of facilities and is essential for maintaining clinical integrity and compliance across the division. The selected candidate will travel extensively, spending up to 80-85% of their time visiting and supporting various facilities. The role involves training and consulting with clinical teams to ensure the success of the Behavioral Health Division.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of nursing leadership experience with expertise in psychiatric care for children and adolescents.
  • Clinical nursing degree required; master's degree required.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement principles and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric clinical programming.
  • Experience with medical management, infection control, and hospital staffing standards.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationally at 80%.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee nursing services and standards of care for Children and Adolescent Services.
  • Facilitate and coordinate reviews of nursing-related standards of care to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develop training materials for nursing leaders and training opportunities related to nursing care and practice.
  • Ensure facility compliance with regulations regarding nursing, staffing, medication management, and infection control.
  • Set expectations and manage processes to assess, measure, and improve the quality of nursing care.
  • Advocate for evidence-based practices to improve current nursing practices.
  • Identify high-risk nursing issues and propose solutions.
  • Investigate nursing quality concerns in collaboration with hospitals and prepare responses and plans of correction.
  • Analyze staffing plans to ensure appropriateness for the treatment population and support nurse retention.
  • Collaborate with CEOs, Group Directors, and VPs on nursing-related issues and offer corrective plans.
