About The Position

The Division Director - Pediatric & Congenital Cardiology provides leadership in the clinical, operational, and financial success of the Heart Center within Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network (MBCHHN). The Division Director – Pediatric & Congenital Cardiology partners with the EMD – Heart Center and Heart Center administrative leadership and drives the strategic growth of all components of pediatric and congenital cardiology. The Division Director, in partnership with the administrative leadership and cardiac surgery co-chairs, directs the programs and strategies resulting in successful health outcomes, patient experience, medical cost efficiency, productivity, and creating a workplace of choice to achieve high-performing high-value care. The Division Director collaborates with ambulatory and hospital leadership to implement Heart Center strategies and program initiatives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric and congenital cardiology.
  • Experience in performance management and mentorship.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines and protocols.

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols as well as ensuring there is 24/7 hospital coverage in accordance with the bylaws.
  • Direct the professional medical care rendered by all interventional, adult congenital, imaging, and other cardiologists and electrophysiologist physicians and APPs in the Heart Center.
  • Provide guidance and support to physicians and APPs, mentorship to new physicians/APPs, and promote a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Evaluate and manage the performance of section heads, addressing issues of clinic productivity, patient satisfaction, and professional development.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance and periodic review of policies, procedures and protocols within the subspecialty ensuring evidence-based care of inpatients and outpatients.
  • Assist with the resolution of patient care problems such as patient access to care, emergencies and professional medical disputes involving patient care.
  • Play a key role in quality improvement and utilization management activities related to patients receiving cardiology care services.
  • Attend and participate in Hospital and Medical Staff Committees as necessary to carry out the duties as Medical Director.
  • Provide education and training of physicians, staff, and students.
  • Oversee the process of cardiology care delivery and transition of care.
