About the position

The Division Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations, performance, and growth of a specific division within the company. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, and ensuring that the division meets its financial and operational goals. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve division objectives and company goals.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Develop and manage division budgets, including forecasting, financial planning, and cost control.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of service/product delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of professionals to achieve their full potential.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development needs.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture that promotes continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the division’s market presence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the division at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Ensure the division adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on operations.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on division performance, including financial results, operational metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve division performance.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and other divisions to align goals and share best practices.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or management in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a management role.
  • Railroad and/or Vegetation Management experience a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and growing a division or business unit.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using business management software and tools.
