About The Position

The Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Division Manager manages the day-to-day operations of an industrial processing facility and ensures the safety, quality, productivity, and profitability of designated Casella Resource Solutions Recycling Operations.Hiring Range: $103,000-$136,000 annually, based on performance; this is a bonus-eligible position.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • a minimum of 3 years of responsible leadership experiences in management or supervisory positions
  • 3-5 years fo experience in an operational environment
  • is legally eligible to work in the US
  • A valid driver’s license and an ability to travel quarterly is needed.
  • A solid understanding of the recycling industry
  • a knowledge of a safe working environment
  • a strong understanding of planning, processing, and manufacturing are required
  • An ability to select and develop a team
  • outstanding interpersonal, relationship building, and employee coaching and development are necessary
  • A demonstrated knowledge of basic economics, budgeting, and accounting principals and practices are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors safety environment, physical and cultural, as well as documents deficiencies and commits to corrections.
  • Investigates accidents and injuries to help manage active Workman Compensation claims, OSHA Citation/Abatement and DOT investigations as necessary.
  • Manages cleanliness and all aspects of housekeeping to ensure the facility meets established expectations.
  • Establishes an internal quality control team or a system of analyzing inbound, outbound and moisture of material mix to provide meaningful feedback to our customers and maintain appropriate quality standards.
  • Follows through with communication, performs regular customer inbound audits to ensure designated customer is notified of results, and assists customers with corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversees finished product audits are completed to ensure company is meeting acceptable Mill specifications of each commodity.
  • Oversees moisture testing daily of the News, Mix Paper and OCC grades to provide results to be documented and shared with the Commodity Marketing Team and takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Establishes variable costs, budgetary guidelines and sets expectations to meet objectives and analyze operations and activities.
  • Improves the preventative maintenance program continuously to ensure all maintenance is done to establish standards and are utilized to run a safe and efficient Maintenance program.
  • Manages and provides leadership to team members by effectively communicating, establishing clear goals and objectives, coaching team members on achieving goals, and ensuring access to training and development opportunities that assist employees in attaining the necessary skills to achieve team and corporate results.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
  • Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws regarding employment and employee safety.
