About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Endocrinology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago seeks a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to be the Division Head of Pediatric Endocrinology. Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago provides top pediatric care in the country in a setting that offers the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology, research and family-friendly design. Operating within the Department of Pediatrics, the Division of Endocrinology is one of the top training programs in the country. Lurie Children's Division of Endocrinology offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for children with a wide variety of Endocrine diseases. Multidisciplinary clinics include Turner Syndrome, long-term cancer survivors, brain tumor, and gender disorders. The Head of Endocrinology will lead the division on its trajectory of growth and to elevate the quality of teaching, research, service, and clinical care in an already outstanding division. The Head should foster stronger connections across the Department of Pediatrics and beyond, extending the reach of clinical and research collaborations with other divisions. The Head should develop a vision to grow the research program; recruit, retain and develop an increasingly distinguished faculty; and support and foster excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • MD degree.
  • Board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a clinical leadership or administrative role within Pediatric Endocrinology at a nationally ranked pediatric hospital.
  • Academic title of Associate Professor or higher.
  • Active clinical practice.
  • Experience mentoring junior and senior faculty.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a pediatric hospital setting at an academic medical center.
  • Experience with a multidisciplinary approach to care in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Proven track record of scholarship and extramural research funding.
  • Prior experience interacting with hospital leadership to secure philanthropic resources.
