Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Practicing Catholic, residing within the Diocese of Joliet or the western suburbs of the Archdiocese of Chicago
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in community relations, fundraising, and development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience with a successful team approach in a diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of securing multi-million dollar philanthropic revenue through private fundraising efforts including individual, corportate and foundation support.
  • Comfort in working with donors and asking for financial support in face-to-face meetings.
  • Success and comfort in public speaking.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including planning, continuous improvement, delegating, and program development.
  • Ability to motivate and manage others in a participatory manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams) and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate full accountability for achieving the organization’s annual fundraising goals, which are established through the approved budget and typically total multiple millions of dollars annually.
  • Oversee the Development functions of the Agency and supervise department staff.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to meet fundraising goals and build relationships with key donors and funding sources.
  • Maintain and oversee the agency’s major gift and prospect database within approved donor management software.
  • Create and monitor communication strategies for consistent public awareness.
  • Provide strategic leadership and develop operational budgets for the department.
  • Ensure program operations meet Agency standards and comply with legal requirements.
  • Meet regularly with the Executive Director to review funding operations and initiatives.
  • Develop the Development Budget based on contributions and special event revenue.
  • Supervise all Agency fundraising events and ensure mobile food pantries are funded and scheduled.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key personnel from various organizations to enhance the Agency's image.
  • Prepare the annual report, oversee grant proposals, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.
