About The Position

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a Division Director to lead our Counseling division! The Division Director provides leadership and oversight of the Counseling Division and facilitates the integration of divisional programs with other Agency services. Oversees all program operations within the division and supports program managers in implementing quality services, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and meeting all contractual agreements. Oversees office and community-based programs and ensures high quality services are delivered to meet the needs of youth and young adults including those with high-needs. Identifies and pursues strategic opportunities to further the division’s programs and services and promotes the use and adoption of leading-edge and established best practices. This full time, exempt position earns a competitive rate ranging from $118,212.71-$129.180.90, depending upon experience. Benefits are also included, which consist of 24 PTO days per year (accrued); 11 paid holidays per year; a premium-free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical, dental, and vision options!); a retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and much more!

Requirements

  • Requires Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Requires 8 years related experience
  • Requires minimum 5 years of management experience including supervising and leading teams
  • or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, preferred intermediate level Excel skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Experience with change management, project management and performance improvement methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the assigned division, services, and contracts through budgetary oversight, staff supervision, program activity coordination, and procurement and management of Agency assets and resources.
  • Stays abreast of community and legislative changes pertaining to the assigned service division and adapts policy, procedures, and programming to meet changing community needs.
  • Identifies and cultivates strategic partnerships at the local and national level.
  • Develops and/or implements collaborative relationships with non-profit, academic, for-profit, governmental organizations, and other stakeholders for the purpose of promoting community alignment, ensuring continuity of service delivery for youth and young adults, and funding new initiatives and programs.
  • Builds a network of partnerships with external service organizations to ensure clients have access to a community of care, with an emphasis on linkage to services for clients experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Navigates the impacts of systems on service delivery and on clients access to services, including the legal system, education system, childe welfare, etc. and plays an active role in informing systems of opportunities for change.
  • Regularly utilizes agency and/or funder database(s) to manage, analyze, interpret, and assess programs in their progress on meeting agreed upon performance goals.
  • Monitors and assesses division performance by analyzing key performance indicators; identifies improvement areas and supports Program Directors in taking appropriate action to respond and correct improvement areas.
  • Oversees division reporting and holds programs accountable for data quality and accurate and timely reporting of data to program funders and other stakeholders.
  • Leads the development of contract, program, and division budgets.
  • Ensures the division complies with all requirements outlined by funding sources, licensure and accrediting bodies, the program, and the agency. These requirements may pertain to data, paperwork, training, processes, and procedures, among other things.
  • Responsible for the hiring, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, and dismissal of direct reports in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Oversees Program Directors and other staff as applicable, that manage highly complex and nuanced contracts, with diverse stakeholders and contract compliance requirements.
  • Holds program leadership accountable for meeting program requirements and performance objectives by coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Oversees the division’s use of and compliance with evidence-based models and/or program curricula to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Continuously identifies and implements emerging and established best practices in partnership with the Research & Evaluation team to ensure continual quality improvement and high impact outcomes.
  • Regularly communicates with contract officers, program evaluators, and subcontractors.
  • Represents the division during contract monitoring and responsible for ensuring any findings are appropriately addressed.
  • Represents the division on the Agency’s Executive Team and connects the division to strategic initiatives.
  • Integrates the delivery of division services with other direct client services to ensure continuous improvement throughout the Agency and the accomplishment of its mission.
  • Plays a leading role on community committees, working groups, and initiatives, and provides community trainings, presentations, and outreach activities.
  • Represents the division at leadership meetings and communicates agency and leadership decisions to their team.
  • Prepares for and actively participates in supervision meetings and all other required meetings or trainings.
  • Develops a framework for program implementation that aligns with Housing First philosophies and best practices, creates low barrier access to high quality care.
  • Develops a framework for program implementation that aligns with Positive Youth Development best practices and incorporates knowledge of brain science, impact of trauma on the brain, and youth resiliency.
  • Leads strategic visioning, organizational planning, and implementation for partnerships, services, and procedures to meet the needs of LifeWorks clients experiencing mental health crisis.
  • Oversees insurance and other third-party billing procedures for division and monitors income generation on a monthly basis; maintains familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare requirement for clinical services.
  • Stays informed with licensing requirements for relevant clinical licenses as well as certification requirements for peer supporters and family partners.
  • Oversees intern strategy and delegation of day-to-day intern placements and program and ensures partnership with universities are well coordinated and managed.
