About The Position

The Interim Divisional Controller will oversee the financial and accounting operations of a newly acquired manufacturing facility for a contract term of approximately six months. This role involves integrating the division into a publicly traded parent company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and managing day-to-day accounting activities on-site in West Valley City, Utah.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a recognized four-year college or university is a must; a CPA or master's degree would be considered an advantage.
• Prior financial accounting leadership experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is important.
• Proven capability to present and discuss key financial information with senior leadership effectively.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all financial-related duties such as monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, audits, and the generation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Formulate and implement finance and accounting strategies, integrating robust SOX controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and maintaining the integrity of accounts and ledgers.
• Evaluate current financial reporting status, including GAAP compliance, inventory valuation, accounting policies and procedures, chart of accounts mapping, and related accounting activities.
• Provide timely, accurate financial insights pivotal for strategic decision-making, manage the broad ledger chart of accounts, and complete assigned projects.
• Oversee the training and development of accounting and finance staff across the sites, encouraging them to meet productivity targets and uphold quality standards.
• Lead and motivate indirect reports to foster collaboration and efficiency; work hand in hand with the finance and operations teams to standardize processes and instill a culture of continuous improvement.
