About The Position

Nemours Children's Health, Pensacola is seeking a Division Chief of Urology to work in partnership with Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. The position involves evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and surgical treatment skills. The Division Chief will recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients. They will adhere to, contribute to, and develop clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to pediatric surgical medicine. The role includes accepting patient referrals from other physicians and acting as a consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary urological diagnoses, depending on the needs of patients, medical staff, and the hospital. The Division Chief will also participate in academic programs (e.g., medical education and research) as requested, round with pediatric residents in their area of specialty, and provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements, appealing all denials in a timely manner. Additionally, they will participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty including on-call duties.

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board certified/eligible in area of specialty
  • Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA
