About The Position

Nemours Children's Health, Pensacola is seeking a Division Chief of Pediatric Neurology to work in partnership with Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. This position involves interpreting inpatient and outpatient EEG, evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills, and adhering to clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to pediatric medicine. The Division Chief will also recommend and participate in efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care, accept patient referrals from other physicians, and act as a consulting physician for hospitalized patients. Additionally, the role includes participation in academic programs, rounding with pediatric residents, and providing documentation that meets insurance company requirements.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board certified/eligible in area of specialty
• Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA

Responsibilities

• Interpreting inpatient and outpatient EEG
• Evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills
• Adhering to and developing clinical patient pathways
• Recommending and participating in efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care
• Accepting patient referrals from other physicians
• Acting as consulting physician for hospitalized patients
• Participating in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research)
• Rounding with pediatric residents in area of specialty
• Providing appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements
• Participating in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty including on-call
