West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seek a Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology qualified for appointment at the Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. This role involves leading the Pediatric Cardiology Program at the expanding Children’s Heart Center, providing excellent patient care, and actively teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The Division Chief will manage clinical duties for pediatric cardiologists, lead collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgery program, head the state-wide community outreach clinic program, mentor junior faculty in quality improvement and research, and oversee educational programs for various learners. WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital serves as a tertiary care center for West Virginia and surrounding states, featuring the only pediatric cardiothoracic surgery and ECMO programs in West Virginia. The 150-bed Children’s Hospital includes pediatric operating rooms, a cardiac EP and interventional catheterization lab, GI-endoscopy, 34 pediatric beds, a Level 4 NICU, a dedicated Cancer Institute, a Pediatric Emergency Department, 15 PICU beds, and an 8-bed CICU within the WVU Medicine Children’s Heart Center of Excellence. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, part of the WVU Health System, is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program and epilepsy monitoring unit for children, and holds Magnet status for nursing excellence. The WVU Health System is the state’s largest health system and employer, comprising 25 hospitals, over 35,000 employees, and 4,600 providers.
