About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania are accepting candidates for the position of Division Chief of Cardiac Anesthesiology. We are looking for an inspirational and innovative leader, board-certified in pediatric anesthesiology, to lead one of the highest-profile premier academic pediatric cardiac anesthesiology divisions. The successful candidate will transform the division to pursuit of achieving CHOP’s mission of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and advocacy. Requirements

  • Board-certified in pediatric anesthesiology
  • Experience in leading clinical operations and research in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in managing clinical programs delivering anesthetics to children with congenital and acquired heart disease
  • Familiarity with multi-center trials and clinical research

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Division’s clinical, research, and educational activities
  • Model, grow, and sustain a Divisional culture aligned with Departmental values
  • Lead faculty recruitment efforts
  • Support career development and mentoring for all Division faculty, fellows, and CRNAs
  • Participate in strategic planning and execution for the Division, the Department, and the Cardiac Center
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for Division Faculty
