About The Position

The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest and most complex Department in the Morsani College of Medicine with over 26 Divisions, Programs and Centers/Institutes, total human resources in excess of 1,000, and an annual all-source budget in excess of $143,000,000. The Department's mission is to rank among the elite in the nation in the areas of education, research and patient care, providing education and training for a diverse group of medical students, residents, fellows and health personnel. Research activities are numerous, involving both basic and clinical research in all subspecialties of Internal Medicine, with NIH funding in excess of $120 million over the past 3 years. Patient care occurs in affiliated hospitals and state-of-the-art ambulatory health care centers. The Division Administrator directs all administrative and operational activities for one or multiple divisions, fulfilling the educational, research, healthcare and quality missions at USF Health. This role involves administrative management of educational programs, general operations, financial management, budget development, fiscal and administrative compliance, supervision of staff, divisional human resource administration and recruitment, and serving as a key liaison for clinic operations. The Division Administrator acts as a strategic partner to the Chair, Vice Chair's, Department Administrator, and other senior leadership and staff in the planning and implementation of policies, programs, and initiatives that support the primary mission areas of the department. The position reports to the Department Administrator and is directly responsible for ensuring that administrative and operational activities comply with Department, university, practice and educational policies and procedures. The position is also responsible for the training and development of all direct reports and providing guidance/direction to other division level staff resources.
